UK hotel that charges less than £100 a night voted the best in the world

A UK hotel which charges less than £100 a night for bed and breakfast has been voted the best in the world.


Seven-bedroom Edgar House in Chester, Cheshire, described by Sir Roger Moore as 'very pleasant', was judged the best small hotel worldwide.

It got the accolade from members of internet review site TripAdvisor in its Travellers' Choice Awards 2016.

Edgar House co-owner Mike Stephen, who runs it with partner Tim Mills, said: 'We are over the moon to be recognised by TripAdvisor as a 2016 Travellers' Choice Awards winner.
